This post explains and give practice opportunities related to TEKS 6.12D:
summarize categorical data with numerical and graphical summaries, including the mode, the percent of values in each category (relative frequency table), and the percent bar graph, and use these summaries to describe the data distribution
One of the newest forms of data representation that 6th graders learn is the percent bar graph.
Students also learn to create and interpret a related representation, the relative frequency table.
Between 2016 and 2022 (including redesign practice), this supporting standard has been tested 10 times on the STAAR test. Videos explaining the problems can be found below.
