3rd Grade Math - Time Intervals

This post explains and gives practice opportunities related to TEKS 3.7C:

determine the solutions to problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals in minutes using pictorial models or tools such as a 15-minute event plus a 30-minute event equals 45 minutes

Instruction

Time intervals ask students to start at a certain time and calculate a stopping time based on how much time went by.

STAAR Practice

Between 2016 and 2025 (including redesign practice), this supporting standard has been tested 6 times on the STAAR test. Videos explaining each problem can be found below.
