represent one- and two-step problems involving addition and subtraction of whole numbers to 1,000 using pictorial models, number lines, and equations;

Instruction

In third grade, addition and subtraction problems can be one- or two-step. Students learn to both solve them and represent them.

STAAR Practice

Between 2016 and 2025 (including redesign practice), this readiness standard has been tested 14 times on the STAAR test. Videos explaining each problem can be found below.
