3rd Grade Math - Multiplication as Comparison

This post explains and gives practice opportunities related to TEKS 3.5C:

describe a multiplication expression as a comparison such as 3 x 24 represents 3 times as much as 24

Instruction

Most of us think of multiplication as equal groups. While that is one way to look at it, students also learn that sometimes multiplication is used to compare two values.

STAAR Practice
