6th Grade Math - Equations for Area and Volume

This post explains and gives practice opportunities related to TEKS 6.8C:

write equations that represent problems related to the area of rectangles, parallelograms, trapezoids, and triangles and volume of right rectangular prisms where dimensions are positive rational numbers
 

Instruction

Students learn how to find the area of a trapezoid in 6th grade and there's more than one way to write the formula.

Students also recall equations for area and volume for previously learned shapes.

 

STAAR Practice
