This post explains and give practice opportunities related to TEKS 4.4D:
use strategies and algorithms, including the standard algorithm, to multiply up to a four-digit number by a one-digit number and to multiply a two-digit number by a two-digit number. Strategies may include mental math, partial products, and the commutative, associative, and distributive properties
Students extend their knowledge of 2-digit by 1-digit multiplication to extend up to 4-digit by 1-digit multiplication.
Students also learn how to multiply 2-digit numbers together.
Between 2016 and 2022, this supporting standard has been tested 3 times on the STAAR test. Videos explaining the problems can be found below.
